Snowflake Garland

I had a friend come over and we spent the day crafting. I was going to work on Christmas cards and she started out thinking she was going to make tags but that all quickly changed when she saw a small table that I had set up for my Etsy show snowflakes. I had gotten some major orders so I had piles of them in assorted shapes and sizes. Before I knew what was happening she had a brainstorm idea and was dipping into the snowflakes while I was cutting gingerbread men.
This is what we came up with.

Here are the two that I made. The one on the bottom is coffee dyed and is going to need a little starch when I take it down.  I used little tine pins to hold it, that way when it comes down you can't see any evidence of anything hanging there.

Sheep

While making sheep cards for my niece, I was inspired to make some new styles of sheep for the Etsy shop. These little guys have a primitive look to them.
He comes in a tree ornament form and a pin/brooch form.

These guys are less primitive but equally adorable.
You can also get them in ornament or pin form.

Oh, then I thought I would post a pic to show my table isn't always as cluttered as my mind.
 Dining room table.
Three season porch table.

Snowflakes

I've taken a short break from my paper crafting to concentrate on my Etsy shop.

Gearing up for fall.

Trying to keep cool by cutting snow flakes.
If you guys are on Facebook, you can hop on over and check out Cindy's Stitches in Time.

Busy Little Beavers

This week end Michele came home with lots of ideas of what she wanted to get done.  She sells Thirty One Bags and accessories and wanted to make something for thank you for coming gifts.

So we got crackin' and made little packets of tags. Twelve packets to be exact.

Here is a sampling of what they will get just for showing up.

She wanted to make Christmas gifts as well so I had to clear a path in my sewing room so she could make these adorable little cup cozies.

Herds of Sheep

I've been making herds of sheep for my Etsy shop.  These were for a special order.
 I've been making round sheep.
 Oval sheep.
Sheep with legs.
Sheep with no legs.
Sheep with a little pouch on the back to hold a scissors.
Sheep that you can wear on your lapel.
And I have no idea why these two pictures mysteriously turned to the side.  They aren't like that on my camera and I can't change them.

Wool Felt Flowers

Don't you just love wool felt flowers?  I know I do.  I sell a lots of them in my Etsy shop and people that don't buy them are always asking me what people do them. I don't ask but sometimes they volunteer the information and once in a while even send me a picture. When Janice sent me a picture I fell in love with what she a had done. So I went out to my yard and gathered some twigs.

This is my version of the picture she sent.
I got out my Elmers glue and went to town making flowers.
Then I made more.
Once I started I was having so much fun I couldn't stop. I really liked the little white vase so I painted a mason jar white to see what that would look like.  But I think I like the unpainted jar with the burlap ribbon much better.
Yes, it's safe to say I got a little carried away.

The picture really doesn't do justice and are much cuter in person.

Flock of Sheep

This time of year is the busiest for my Etsy Shop so I've been stocking it with some of the most popular items.  Other than the flowers and snowflakes, sheep have been a hot item.

The top three are scissor fobs with a little pocket on the back so you can tuck your scissors in inside.
The bottom row can be used for a tree ornament or a scissor fob just to keep track of your scissors. You can see some other fun sheep items in my Etsy shop by clicking here.

New Year

With the New Year I decided to get a few new things in my Etsy shop. I like to try new things and I am always apprehension about spending a lot of time and energy making numerous things then not having them sell. With an Etsy shop comes advice, usually from people that don't sell or buy from Etsy. A lot of people have told me I should sell my cards, well if you do a search for cards in Etsy you will come up with over 750,000 items and I'm just not interested in joining that competitive market.  However, I have also gotten some great suggestions from customers, like snow flakes (my best seller) so now I am trying a couple more things that customers have suggested.  One is snowmen.
You can find more here.
I also sell sheep scissor fobs and brooches. Well one of my customers had inquired if the fob had a pocket to hold the scissors, it didn't but I thought hmmm, I bet it could so ....
A sheep scissors holder/fob was born.

Lion Moccasins

I've have sold a couple of pair of monkey moccasins from my Etsy shop so when my daughter asked if I could make some lion ones for one of her co-workers, I jumped at the chance, since I do get tired of making the same things over and over again.
They went off in the mail along with a pair of monkeys.  I hope she likes them and I hope they fit.

Napkin rings

In keeping with the Valentine theme I had going, I went ahead and made some napkins rings using wool felt and hearts cut with my die cutter.

Here is the front and back version.

Gearing up for Valentine's Day

I needed some decorations for for February so I designed a couple of small mats using my die cutter. Not having to cut the hearts by hand makes the job get done much faster.

Just stuff I've been doing

After I made the gingerbread garland for my railing, I thought the other side looked a little bare so I made a tea dyed snowflake garland.
Then keeping with my quick and easy theme I decided to make napkin rings.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again I love gingerbread men!
And lastly project was neither quick or easy mainly because they started out a knitting project.
It all started one day when I decided I needed a pair of knitted fingerless gloves to wear around my house on those below zero days when my hands never seem to warm up. My friend said she had some easy patterns she would share with me.  Well after a few very unsuccessful attempts at two of the patterns, I then tried begging hiring a friend, then another friend to make a pair for me and when that was unsuccessful I thought I would try crocheting some. They aren't what I expected, but they will suffice for now.

Gingerbread Men

Slowly I'm getting my Christmas decorations out and about. I have a soft spot in my heart for gingerbread men, makes no different to me if they are editable or not.
So this little gingerbread men garland hit the spot.
