Cards

While tiding up in my studio, I found a couple of cards that I forgot to post pics of.
Here is just a simple card I whipped up,

This one I made with tissue paper I bought for half price at Hobby Lobby. It didn't turn out like I had envisioned it but it's alright.

Mini Clip Board

This is a little clip board that I made thinking it would make a really cute gift.

But since I have more ideas than I have friends, so far it is staying with me.

Gift Card Boxes

When my friend gave to visit, she saw a had a collection of tins in various sizes and wondered if they would work for gift card.
Well sure enough, they are the perfect size so we went to town.

I have some mini pizza boxes, so I decorated one just for fun.
Then after she left, I decided my kids needed gift cards in cute little boxes so I made two more.

They are so quick and easy to make and a great way to use up all the little do dads that you pickup on sale and then wonder what to do with them.

Stampin Up Event

I totally forgot to post pics from my last Stampin' Up event so without further ado …..

Aren't these just the sweetest little treat holders.
I found some cute little snowmen at Aldi, and they are just perfect for going inside.
We ended by making an assortment of tags.

Alcohol Ink Snowflake

Here is a snowflake that I made when I took a class in Granite Falls.
The base is just a giant white plastic snowflake.  We took a dauber, added three colors of ink then just daubed all aver. I waned more color so I added a little green over the top. Trust me, it looks much better in person.

I took some of my shimmer frost white paint from Stampin' Up and did some dots a swirls.

Cards

A couple of weeks ago I had a Stampin' Up event and my friend Becky came early so we could create together which is always more fun.  Unfortunately I forgot to take pic of all her cool stuff so here are some pics of cards I made.

I made this card for my brother and sister-in-law.  They are wiener dog people and are never without one or two or perhaps even three, I've lost track.

This is the inside of the card.
This tree was made with single ever green sprigs and the whole card took way longer than any one person should spend making a card. But it was very fun to make and that's what counts.

I also made two wedding cards.
This is a great way to use your DSP when you love both sides and don't want to cover up either one.
It really is much better in person.

This was just a super fun card to make.
I liked it so much I made two more to give as a thank you for placing orders with me.

Inspired

Inspired by my new art friends I made this funky thing out of 5 x 7 canvas, tea bags and some botanical printed paper.

I didn't turn out even remotely close to what I had envisioned in my head.  Now what are you going to do with it, you ask?  Nothing, it art I don't have to do anything with it.  Just enjoy it. Sometimes I don't like the piece when I'm done, but I enjoy the process and that's what counts.

Abbey Retreat

I recently came back from an art retreat in Marvin, SD at a place called Abbey on the Hill. It was a monastery that has been turned into a wonderful peaceful place to go and fuel up on whatever it is you need.  I needed to refuel my creative juices and wow, this wonderful group was just what I needed.

There was a mixture of all kinds of mixed media going on.  Painting with acrylics, watercolor,  charcoal, drawing, needle felting and rock painting to name a few.
Here is a table of previous work that some brought for show and tell.

I just love these little guys.  They are made from 5 x 7 canvas. I'm in the process of trying to recreate one.
Violet is working very seriously on her next children's book. She has written two already and she is a very talented writer/illustrator.
This artist used found objects from nature and did a short inspiring talk.

Her work was fascinating to me.

Another talented artist that did demos for us.

Painted rocks, don't you just love them?  I have always been a bit of a rock hound.

Another fabulous piece of art.
Shari did a demo on botanical printing.  I didn't take pictures of her wonderful work, but here is mine.  This was my first try and was totally experimental but there will be more to come in the future.
                                 Close Up.

This is a little book I made using paper that my sister gave me from Kazakhstan. I have been very stingy with using it in the past but I'm going to change.  It was be a crying shame for her to drag it all the way across the country only to be stashed away and never use it.

I couldn't bare to waste even a morsel of it so I made beads out of the scraps.
