Just Playing with weird stuff

I came across a roll of silver tape in one of my drawers and I'm absolutely certain that I bought it with something grand in mind but I don't remember buying it and it's moved with me twice so it's time to do something with it.

I first cut off a piece and ran it through my Big Shot using an embossing folder. That turned out pretty cool, now hmmm what else can I do with it.

I pulled out a stamp set and stamped a couple of cars.  You can get coordinating dies for this stamp set so I cut them out, interesting look, now I may have to try cutting out some gears just for fun.

Pet Sympathy Cards

Every once in a while I wish I had a sympathy card on hand for the loss of a pet, now that dilemma is solved.

                                            One for cats.

Tri Fold Cards

It's been awhile since I posted.  I just haven't been making cards since I went through and finished a ton of unfinished cards left over from different events.  I then organized them to see what kind of cards I had on hand and what I needed to make more of and at some point I realized I have more cards than I will ever use in my lifetime. But I really miss it and am going to jump back in, when it come to creating it 's never about need.
Here are a few cards I made using 5.5 x 12 inch double sided designer paper.

It is perfect for that double sided paper when you love both sides and can't decide which side you like the best. 

No need to decide, you will see both sides.

Clever isn't it? Wish I would have thought of it.

Apron Treat Holder

I just can't get enough of the Apron set.

Here is a mini treat holder.

It's the perfect size for a Hershey Nugget.

 Or a packet of tea. I think the Ghirardelli mini's would be a perfect fit as well. I don't have any on hand to try, but I have eaten enough of them to know they would fit.

Here  is another one I made and just made a little box first, then added the apron to the front and back.

This one is the perfect size for a Lindor Chocolate.

Beautiful Day Stamp Set

 Here is another card I made using the Beautiful Day Stamp Set and Brusho watercolor crystals.

This little number is made with alcohol inks.

Alcohol Inks

After moving to Spicer and having the need to socialize, I joined an art group. Some are professionals, some are very talented, and then there is me.  I'm just there to meet new people. It's a super supportive non-judgmental group and you can just do or own thing, or join in if someone is teaching a technique.  The last lesson was on alcohol inks and was loads of fun.  The inks are super hard to control, which is part of the reason why I like them, you just never know what you will end up with. I also really like the strong smell and may have gotten a little high, that might explain my madness.  Just kidding, I think. Mine started out looking like a hot mess.

 Then I got out some of my dies and punches and turned them into lovely cards.

These adorable narrow note cards are 2 1/2  x 4 1/2, come with envelopes and can be found on page 19 in the Occasions Catalog.

This one is made using a note card that is 3 1/2 x 5 and can be found on page 195 in the Stampin' Up annual catalog.

This one is not made alcohol inks.  I water colored the background, then stamped over the top using the Waterfront stamp set on page 48 in the Occasions Catalog.

Sheep Cards

Here are more sheep cards I made for my niece. She is the one that raises them from babies, sheers them, spins the yarn into wool and hand dyes it.  I had made cards for her before and now she needed 12 more.

 Then of course I can't just take the easy way and make them all the same, I don't think any two are the same.

I have a vaulted blue ceiling in my craft room and it makes everything a funky color.

What was I thinking?

I'm trying to gear up for my next Stampin' Up event and I am also doing a card buffet.  I always have wonderful brainstorm ideas at 2 am. Then when I am awake and thinking clearly, I realize I can't get them executed wonder what was I thinking.  I guess I wasn't really thinking.
Here are a few things I have lying around waiting to be made into something fabulous.

 I'm thinking the mittens are somehow going to end up on the gift card holder.

I was thinking this might end up being a hot chocolate holder.

Cards

Well, I finally got a couple more cards made.

Since I only have a minimal amount of supplies unpacked I kept them simple and went with black and white.  The striped paper is from Fun Stampers Journey and is wrapping paper. I cut it at a diagonal for a little more dramatic effect.
The stamps are from Unity Stamps, a local company out of little ol' New London, MN.

Fancy Fold Card

Here is a fancy fold card I made just for fun.

Once I get all the kinks out of it, I think I will be making it for the next class.

non traditional sympathy cards

I needed a couple of sympathy cards so I went a little different route.
This one a for my cousins husband whom I really don't know so went with a masculine type.

The second one is for someone who loved to bake and found great happiness being in the kitchen.

Card Buffet

I had my first ever card buffet last week and it was a hit so I think there will be another in the future.  I have a better feel for what the people want and can offer more options without a lot of extra work.
Here are the projects.

These were the tags I offered and they sold out.

The gift card holder sold out as well.  I even sold the sample one.

I used a bunch of different designer paper for these and the music one sold out immediately.

I made extra of these 'cause it seems I'm always out of sympathy cards, so I figured it they didn't sell I could use them.

I had a lot of these left over and I guess it's just to limited as to who it would be used for, as I took a couple of the left overs and stamped trees on the other side, now it's more versatile.  Clever, aren't I?

These are kind of  wintery generic cards.

These two are my favorites.  I can't get enough of the window frame cards and I love the vintage fawn designer paper.
