Gift Card Boxes

 When my friend gave to visit, she saw a had a collection of tins in various sizes and wondered if they would work for gift card.

Well sure enough, they are the perfect size so we went to town.

I have some mini pizza boxes, so I decorated one just for fun.
Then after she left, I decided my kids needed gift cards in cute little boxes so I made two more.

They are so quick and easy to make and a great way to use up all the little do dads that you pickup on sale and then wonder what to do with them.

Tins

I haven't sold any cards since my last post so I'm still on a sabbatical from making cards. Other than getting all my ducks in a row for the Farmers Market, I did take time to get my paper fix to cover this cute little tin.

It's a Altoid tin, I've covered them before so this is nothing new, and I use them to store all kinds of little tidbits. You can see more tins here and here and here.
And then there are the other tins.  I had about 50 tins I tried to sell at my garage sale for 25 cents each. I made three into bird houses just to show people what they could do with them, thinking that would help boost sales. I didn't sell any of the tins however my neighbor bought two of the finished product. So I dropped most of the left over tins off at a donation place, then my neighbor came over and convinced me that if made more up they would sell at the Famers Market. So I took a few of the tins I had left and this is what they look like.

I didn't sell any at the market but will try again in a couple of weeks when I go back.

Altoid Tins

I have many collections including tins, some are just for looks and others are for using.  Altoid tins are one of those things I find very useful. I have several sitting around so I decided to jazz them up a bit.
 

  I have a couple on my dryer, this one is for money.

 This one is for buttons.

This one is for those replaceable miscellaneous items that you find and don't know what it's for, but you do know as soon as you toss it you will remember and desperately need it.

This last one is for seeds. Four o clocks to be exact.  And as soon and I can find them (should have had a tin and I would know exactly where they are) I'm going to plant them and next fall when they go to seed I'll them them in here be able to plant them right away in the spring.

Tins

It all started with some not so nice looking tins that seem to be accumulating at our store.  They come with chewing tobacco in them and a lot of guys just want the chew, not the tin.  So I decided to put two of them to good use and cover them.

I am giving them to Kathy and Jeanette as a thank you for putting up with me for three days gift.

 I put them into some bags I got from the bakery and just added a yo-yo flower just for fun.

Tin Swap

Here is the wonderful tin that arrived in the mail today. It was made my Kerry in Canada and she really knows my style. I love vintage and tatting so you can imagine how much I love this little tin. The one I sent off can be seen here.

Covered Altoid Tin

This little tin is going out in the mail today for a tin swap I joined. This is the second one that I have made, you can see the first one here. These are so much fun to do.

Little Black Tin

The plan was to give this as a Christmas gift, but it fell by the wayside and didn't get finished in time. It's made from an an Altoid mint tin. I collect tins and have covered them before, but nothing this elaborate. I thought I should finish it and can have it ready for when I need to give a gift. I joined a Altoid tin swap, so I'm considering it a practice run.

The bottom inside is lined with felt and the top inside has a magnet glued in place.
