More fun with friends

On Saturday the Minnesota Quilters held their monthly guild meeting, with the theme being "Hard Times" quilts featuring quilts from the 30's. Kathy, Jeanette and I, being new members, and having a great interest in this program, headed to Minneapolis to the meeting.
We arrived a little early, so we had to have a bite to eat. You can't go to these things on an empty stomach. Kathy had spotted a cute little coffee shop called the Cupcake where we found fabulous pastries and coffee.
We headed to the meeting and found everyone to be very warm and fuzzy, in spite of us causing trouble at the door, with one of us trying to get in with her Farm Bureau card and one of us not bringing her membership card at all.

These we just a few of the miraculous quilts on display.

Country Quilters Quilt Show

These are pictures from our local quilt show.

This was our challenge this year. Quilt on a stick. How cute are these? We got to vote on our favorite. The competition was tough and I couldn't even vote for my own (the crazy quilt fan) 'cause it wasn't my favorite. We won't find out the winner until our local guild meeting on the 12th.

This is a favorite booth. It's a mother/daughter team and their work is unbelievable. Deb is just kickin' back after a long day of setting up.

My friend Bonnie asked if I would help her set up the 30's booth and I was honored to be asked. Her mom Anna helped too.

Our small group sends fabric postcards when someone has a birthday.

Chicken and More

Our thirties group met tonight and we had our Christmas gift exchange. I received this great funky chicken and a Christmas topiary from Rose.

This is the table topper I made for Kim.
