Wood Crate Framelit

I love the Stampin' Up Wood Crate Framlit Die.  It makes the most adorable little crates.
I've made some using designer paper and they turned out super cute as well, but gave them away without taking pics. For this one I used cardstock and stamped it with the wood grain stamp.

Then of course I had to take it one step further and make a cute little bench.  For this I cut off the top 'piece of wood' on the front of the crate.  For the crate you need to run the die through the cutter twice.  For the bench you need to run it though three times.  I just cut off the sides of the third piece and attached it to the back of the bench.
And then just to add to the fun factor, it opens to hide little treats.

Stampin' Up Cards

Here are the cards we made using products from the seasonal catalog.

Aren't the fabulous?  There is any that I don't love.  She is having another event in March and I can hook you up if anyone is interested.

Fabulous Stampin' Up Weekend

Saturday my daughter and I went to a fabulous Stampin' Up Event put on by Kay Kalthoff aka Stampin to Share.  I have to say it was more fun than a barrel of monkeys. It started at 9 am and we were greeted at the door with a table of adorable name tags.

Then we were handed a bag with all the supplied we would need to make 24 cards, 12 different cards of 2 each. Along with these food safe pizza boxes with our embellishments tucked inside.

Coffee, muffins and water was supplied for us. And door prizes.  Each name tag had a number and when your number was called we got to go up and choose a prize. This is what Michele choose.
This is what I choose.

We took a break for lunch, then our wonderful hostess came around with fun little treat boxes.

Michele is having so much fun, soon she will be crafting even when I'm not there to cheer her on.
Well, probably not, but she does enjoy it when a good portion is done and all she does is the fun stuff, but then who doesn't?
There were card displays to inspire us.
This kit is on page 11 in the catalog and you need to take a good look, if you haven't already. It comes with the Soft Sayings stamp set, an Ink spot, a stamp block, 20 printed card bases, coordinated printed envelops, die cut accents, bakers twine, washi tape and dimensionals. Wow, that's a great value. Oh my goodness, I think I may have just talked myself into purchasing it.

This is another card kit.  That comes with everything you need as well.
That's all for now, I'll post pics of the cards we made soon.

Metallic Thread

Stampin' Up came out with a new Metallic thread and I absolutely love it.  I'm not sure if I love it because it's so cool or because it's so affordable. It's 3.00 for 50 yards.  I started out buying black, then ordered copper.
It's really fine but adds so much to any project, so now I order the silver and gold for our Stampin' Up Christmas event.
Since it is so fine, it unrolls itself off the spool, so I bought the handy dandy little spool holders off from Amazon. Now I am asking myself, where have these little guys been all my life?

Stampin' Up Event

I had a small fun group for my last event. We made 5 projects as usual then since there were only two people we made a bonus project.
We made these adorable little cat pouches that can be filled with money or candy. Since there is no taping involved, just folding and decorating, they go together in minutes.
Then keeping the cat theme going, we made Halloween cards.  I thought it might be a little too funky for some, but they really liked the cats punched from aluminum cans.  You know how I like to do my part in saving the world, one can at a time.
We made this card using my favorite set, Painted Harvest.
We continued on with the fall theme and made this card using the every so popular Daisy stamp set and daisy punch.
We wrapped up the cards with this lovely card using the Painted Harvest stamp set.

Here is the bonus project that we made.  They are designed to be tags.
But we made them into little Hersey's Kiss holders. How stinkin' cute are they?
