Rubber Stamping Event

A couple of weeks ago my daughter and I went to the big Rubber Stamping Event in Bloomington. I mainly went to get ideas and I really practiced some self control but did buy a cute little two inch brayer,  Then went to town trying it out.

They are made with glossy paper and the trees with versa mark ink and these pictures just don't do them justice.
While we were at the event we did a few make and takes, just for fun.

Shower and Wedding Cards

I've been selling and giving away a few cards so I needed to restock my inventory.
This one is similar to the bird one I made for one of my events but used owls instead.

I needed some baby cards so I made one specifically for a shower and one that can go just for baby or a shower.
These I made that could either be used for a bridal shower or baby shower.

This is what happens BC

Before coffee that is.
I was doing a little experimenting with double embossing and in case you haven't noticed the embossing folder on the bottom is backwards.
I was kicking my self and thought briefly about tossing it, then I opened the card up and waula, it hit me, just stamp inside and make it look like I did it on purpose.
Now granted I would probably not send this card to any of my Stampin' Up customers that I have sold this embossing folder to, as they would know it was a mistake, but I could easily send it to someone that doesn't make cards and they would think it was perfect.

Not Stampin' Up

I invited a couple of friends for a day of fun with paper as I wanted to play around with some supplies I have had floating around for way to long.

Our first theme was vellum. Which I had received from my friend Jeanette, so I thought it would be fitting to put it to good use when she came.

Oops this one is side ways, just turn your head so I don't have to retake the picture.
Kathy and Jeanette in all their glory. They sure make a mess, don't they?  We made other projects as well, but the rest I have made before and are already posted on my blog so I will spare you the details. We managed to getting some eating in as well.

We had buffalo chicken sandwiches, a mock potato salad, which is made with cauliflower and a much healthier version, fruit salad and chipotle black bean chips.
Angel pudding for dessert.
Oh I almost forgot I introduced them to my two new friends, Jeremiah and Arnold.

I also sent them home with lovely parting gifts that I forgot to take pictures of but you will just have to trust me when I tell you they were super cute and very delicious. It was Brownie Puppy Chow, in Stampin' Up clear plastic bags with paw prints stamped on Stampin' Up tags.

If you are looking for some manly cards check out the new Walk in the Wild stamp set from Stampin' Up.
I also used the Woodgrain embossing folder and they turned out very manly.

All I need is a little encouragement

My friend Kathy asked a simple question, "When are you going to update your blog?" That's all it takes to get me motivated.  I had taken pictures for it just never go around to posting them.  So here they are, Kathy.

These are cards I demoed from our Stampin' Up Event.
These were done by Shannon, the one on the right is a little journal.

These two were done by Jenny.
These are showcasing the new stamp set Timeless Talk and the new in colors 2013-2015 card stock Baked Brown Sugar and Strawberry Slush.
For the card on the left I was trying to use up some of my brads and some discontinued paper so I made about 12 of these for various occasions.
Just some cards that are fun to make. I love using punches.  It's such a quick and easy way to make cute cards. The one on the left I cut the black using the Floral Frames Collection, and the Decorative Label Punch then topped it with the Curly Label.  The candle is the Modern Label and the flame is the wing from the Bird Builder.
The card on the right is made with the Mosaic punch and flower is made with the new clay and Buttons & Blossoms Simply Pressed Clay Molds.
This little guy is a Hershey's nugget cover. A lot of different punches would work, I have seen it made with the Stampin' Up butterfly punch, which I don't have so I used the Pansy punch.
