Church Bake Sale

Our church bake sale is today and I always try to come up with something that I don't think anyone one else will bring. This year with it being so close to Easter I went with something kind of cutesy.
I used the Special K Bar recipe then substituted chow mein noodles for the Special K cereal. In case you want to make them and don't want to look up the recipe here it is:
1 cup sugar
1 cup Karo syrup
1 cup peanut butter
6 cups chow mein noodles.
Mix sugar and syrup together in a large pan and bring to a boil. Add peanut butter until melted then stir in the noodles. I scooped them into muffin tins that have been sprayed with a vegetable pan coating using this:
I sprayed this with the non stick spray as well.
Then I pressed them down with the back this, also sprayed with the non stick spray.

They were then wrapped, priced and went out the door.  I hope they sell.
I also made a pan of Pecan Butterscotch Bars.
I do not recommend making these if you are trying to lose weight as they are so very additive.  I usually need chocolate in some form to get me to single handedly eat an entire pan of bars, but this recipe is an exception to my rule.  I'm pretty sure I got this recipe off the internet but can't find the link right off hand. If anyone is interested in the recipe just let me know and I will type it up post it.

Lion Moccasins

I've have sold a couple of pair of monkey moccasins from my Etsy shop so when my daughter asked if I could make some lion ones for one of her co-workers, I jumped at the chance, since I do get tired of making the same things over and over again.
They went off in the mail along with a pair of monkeys.  I hope she likes them and I hope they fit.

Crazy Quilting

This is my latest crazy quilt project. I really haven't been doing mush of it mainly because I'm running out of space in my house to display it and it's a lot of work just to have it sitting inside a trunk. But when our local quilt shop offered a class with wool I just couldn't resist. We started embellishing the seams in class then I finished on the long trip to Fargo this week end.
This is how Lucy Lu utilizes her time. She's not as productive as me.

A closer view.  Next time we will be adding wool applique pieces such as flowers, bees, a crow, ect.

I Can't Stop

Once I dug out my beads I can't stop with the bracelets.  I made another crochet one with pearl cotton and small white beads similar to the others except  I made it wider.
Then I went back to knitting but dug out some wire.
No it's not for my cat, it's just that she makes a better model than my well used hands.

It's a tiny bit harder to knit with wire but the beads were much easier to string so it ended up being a trade off as far as time wise.
