Silk Scarf

I'm in an art group that meets once a week called CAT - Creating Art Together,  Their main thing is watercolor but every once in a while we do something totally different. A couple of weeks ago we hand painted on silk scarfs and for the first time I actually have something I am proud of.
I think even Lucy is proud of it.
Here is a wrinkled version of it.
And now a little more about this wonderful group. Most of them are fabulous artist, some display their work in the local area, some sell their work, some bring it to share and let us enjoy it for the moment. And then there is me. I was looking for a way to meet people since I was new to the area and live 10 miles from the nearest town and I didn't want to lose my social skills, what little I have. A friend was telling me about this art group that lets anyone in and thought I might enjoy it. I joined (paid my 10.00 annual fee) and jumped in feet first.  They are such a wonderful supportive group no one had the heart to tell me I didn't belong.  I felt like 'these are my people' from day one.
I will admit, I am crafty, but there is a huge difference between being an artist and being crafty.
This week we worked on Masa paper also known as rice paper.  Most of them made beautiful landscapes, woodlands or gorgeous flowers and this is my masterpiece.

We always walk around to see what others are doing and I bet you are wondering what could they possibly say about mine.  Well they said, 'nice colors' and 'that's a nice start to a background'. Instead of telling them this is my finished piece I said I have a plan.  I didn't tell them there was a garbage can involved with my plan. But it kind of growing on me so I will chop it up into smaller pieces and use it for cards.
