Stampin' Up Fun

Today I could have the exact same title as last time since we are have another storm. School closed early, the snow is blowing and the wind is starting to blow. I thought about taking another picture but I think everyone is so tired of seeing it no one needs any more reminders of the winter that never left.
Earlier this week I got together with two fellow Stampin' Up demonstrators to brain storm, share ideas and play with paper.
We made pinwheels using the Stampin' Up pinwheel die, so that makes it a fun project.
We made them in 3-D form and flat form.  The 3-D pinwheels are a little more time consuming but  would be super cute as cupcake toppers. We also learned how to do the chalkboard effect.
Then we played around with glossy paper.  I wasn't familiar with it at all, so this was so much fun.
I am definitely going to be experimenting some more with this technique.

Winter has arrived once again.

Luckily on Friday the roads were dry and sky was clear so it turned out to be a perfect day for a Stampin Up Event at my house.
We made cards, a bookmark and a purse.

I always try to have one project that you can make start to finish in three minutes or less.  This time it was a card.

This one has a removable bookmark on the corner.

I love making these super fun purses.  If you don't add handles, there is not cutting involved, just a 12 x 12 sheet of paper and folding.
They would be great if you want to give a few cards away, or what little girl wouldn't love to get this with candy, hair accessories or even a little cash.
I have a friend that has a Cricut club, they meet, do a little demo and we make two cards using things cut out on a Cricut machine.  It's the first time I'm been able to make it and it was great as it forced me to take my Cricut out of the box and use it for the first time. since we were supposed to bring something for show and tell.
These are the cards that we got to make and take home.
What fun!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

I just realized its been a long time since my last post so I thought I would start with something everyone in MN wants to see.

Now if it was December, I would talk about how beautiful this is and how much I love snow but now that it's April 11th, I'm not so thrilled.
Now on a more pleasant note, I will show a couple of new projects.Yesterday I went to wooly Wednesday at the local quilt shop and brought a project from home to work on.
This is the start of a pin cushion.  While I was there of course I had to walk around the shop and see what was new. I saw some of those cute little yo yo makers that have been floating around years, I have several in various shapes and sizes but when I spotted one I don't have I thought I should give it a whirl.
I'm not sure what I will use these for, but they sure are cute.
